Work

I count myself fortunate to have worked in Europe, Asia, USA and Latin America. The most significant take away is that there is invariably more than one valid way to get things done. The common thread has been putting technology to work for people, encompassing programme/project management and solution architecture. On occasion I have been called upon to address troubled projects. My focus is getting things done through proper alignment, clarity, and leadership. Recent projects have been focused on software product development services, within the information services domain.

Where was the photo taken?

The view from Basilica Superga overlooking Torino (or Turin). A wonderful city that I have the good fortune to visit several times a year. The Basilica Superga was built by Duke Vittorio Amedeo II, because of a vow he made to the “Madonna delle Grazie” in 1706, when the city of Turin was under siege by the French-Spanish army.

There is a tramway up to the Basilica but for those looking for a more invigorating challenge there is the Sassi Superga 4.8km cycle climb, with an ascent of 419.4m with an average gradient of 8.7%, kicking up to a max of 16%.

On a more subdued note there is a memorial to the 31 people of the Grande Torino Football team and staff that were lost in an air crash on 4 May 1949.
